Por alguna extraña razón, los habitantes de este planeta acostumbramos a guardar todo en cajas: cajas para collares, cajas para zapatos, escondemos la ropa vieja en cajas, ocultamos antiguos cuadernos y agendas en cajas…Cajas de las que siempre resulta difícil desprenderse y que al fin y al cabo son, para nosotros, tan queridas como inútiles.

Estoy segura de que el artista berlinés Bartek Elsner, no dudaría en organizar una colecta de todas esas “engorrosas” cajitas.Y es que este artista y diseñador multidisciplinar, nos tiene enganchados con su arte. Un arte que crea a partir de este aprovechable material, dando forma a esculturas magistrales que le han ido encargando por toda la capital alemana. Magistrales por su originalidad pero también por su detalle y perfeccionismo a la hora de elaborarlas.

For some unknown reason, we tend to store everything in boxes: jewelry boxes, shoeboxes, boxes where we keep our old clothes, boxes where we hide our first notebooks and diaries…boxes which we are reluctant to dispose of, and which end up becoming both loved as useless.

I am certain that Berlin artist Bartek Elsner wouldn’t hesitate to organize a Cardboard Box Drive in order to get hold of those “annoying” boxes. This multidisciplinary designer has got us gripped with his art. An art created from this reusable material which he develops into masterful sculptures which people have requested from all over the German capital. Masterful due to their originality but also because of the detail and perfectionism in their creation.
